Meet our Counselors

Kathleen McMullan, MSW, LCSW
Specialties:
Life can present serious struggles to all of us. During those times, the assistance of a trained counselor provides effective support to sort through your options, and to make choices true to your life goals and values. If you are at a crossroads or feel bogged down by past decisions, counseling offers you a time and place to re-assess and prepare for the next stage of your journey.
Prior to clinical work, I was an academic advisor at a local university for 15 years. I enjoy working with clients age 12 and up. I have experience assisting people with depression and anxiety issues, communication issues, the complications of living with ADHD, parenting, play therapy, and life coaching. I participated in a therapists' self study group on counseling youth and their families who are addressing sexual identity issues.
Specialties:

- Adolescent Issues
- Parenting
- Relationship Issues

Kimberly Rydgig, MA, LCPC
Specialties:
I have been working in this field for fourteen years, and really enjoy working with people to help them rediscover their balance, and who they are meant to be. Depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and traumatic life events are some of the things which if less unaddressed can prevent life from being a satisfying, fulfilling experience.
I work with individuals and also with families. The ages I work with range from age 3 and up. I enjoy working with children and teens because of their unique perspective on life, but also enjoy working with adults as well. Doing both gives me immense satisfaction in my work. I work with depression, anxiety, grief issues, ADHD, trauma recovery and ptsd, including recovery from childhood abuse, and with behavioral issues with children.

For many, it takes courage to begin the counseling process, but by addressing the issues that have caused you pain, you can rise above these issues, and discover your personal joy potential. We as humans have unlimited capacity to heal ourselves, despite the pain we’ve suffered.
My approach integrates psychodynamic psychotherapy with other modalities, in which I’ve been trained, depending on the needs of the client. I believe the most important factors leading to positive change in therapy are the client’s motivation and a positive collaborative, and professional working relationship, in which the client can feel accepted, supported, and understood.
